Vienna Christmas Ball

The Vienna Christmas Ball is a celebration which finished an excellent 2008 in style for the Europe Business Assembly and its members.

It is not only a highlight of the Europe Business Assembly calendar, but al so in the life of high European society. Traditionally in the build up to Christmas, Europe’s political, business and cultural beau monde meet there. This continues the centuries old aristocratic traditions of Europe.

The Vienna Christmas Ball is not only a wonderful year end celebration, but also a unique glimpse at a style of life and an excellent opportunity for socializing and networking.

The first evening was held at the famous Pallavicini Palace where representatives of business, academia and government from around Europe gathered. The main event was the award ceremony for the Europe Business Assembly. Over 70 of Europe’s elite saw the presentations made to leading heads of business, public bodies and higher education institutions. The evening also saw the investiture of honorary professors of the International University of Vienna.

A gala diner in the beautiful main hall of the palace allowed everyone a chance to relax in Viennese style and grandeur and get to know one another. New friendships and business relationships were formed and a wonderful evening was had by all.

The following evening was the ball, hosted at the Park Hotel Schonbrunn’s famous ball room. This saw displays of very traditional and more contemporary Viennese dancing that were all impressive and also set the mood for a unique experience in one of the great ballrooms of Europe.

Our guests spent an enjoyable evening eating, drinking and dancing. We may not have all been up to the standard of the professional dancers on display, but the evening passed too quickly as we lived out the life of the old aristocracy for a night.

With all the same people gathered together again, there was a chance to speak to more of your peers and to form new partnerships. Even in challenging financial times, it was uplifting to see that a little fun and a lot of opulence can generate new business opportunities. We can raise our spirits and still do the best by our businesses. Not everything in life needs to be depressing and the Vienna Christmas Ball proved this once again.
